80 Day Obsession – Day 61

It’s Friday!!! We got up at 4am again to get our workout out of the way, because why not?! We figured it would be nice to have things done and out of the way before work. So we ate at 4, worked out at 5 and then headed to a meeting, all before I had to leave for work. Today was Cardio Core. I know I just said that I’m starting to love working out, but I will say Cardio Core isn’t my favorite. And in Phase 3 it’s just a bunch of high impact leg exercises. I feel like Phase 3 is pretty massively focused on legs. This workout gave me a run for my money. But I made it through. Some of the ab workouts were tough too. The form and holding myself up was more difficult than the actual movements. My arms and feet struggled to keep me up. But I guess maybe perfect form is part of working the abs.

We ate our post workout together before I left for work. And we wanted to space our meals as far as possible, so I only took 2 meals with. Because I had so little food I figured I’d just put it in my backpack and use the fridge. I’ve never done that, I’ve always just brought my little snazzy cooler bag and kept my food at my desk. Today, I put it in the fridge…. it turns out the fridge gets cleaned out every Friday and if you don’t write your name and the date on your food it gets dumped. Of course, I didn’t put my name and the date on my food. I got up at meal time and went to go get my food only to find it wasn’t there!!! OMG. That’s when I realized my mistake. I peaked in the compost bin and saw my special, pre-measured, pre-prepared 80 Day Obsession food in a pile of other rubbish in the compost bin. Ahhhhhh!

Now I was faced with a new dilemma. Getting measured food that meets the nutrition plan! I went to Walgreens, which is across the street. Not surprisingly, I really couldn’t meet any of my dietary requirements there. The good news is google maps told me there was an organic health food store 5 blocks away. So I walked over. The walk seemed very familiar. Turns out it was across the street from the apartment I lived in almost a decade ago. And the store was the same one I used to go to for my late night munchies! I was able to get oatmeal (not the best yellow/carb, but not bad), a box of power greens, and a box of veggie patties. I made that work for 2 meals. I had to eye the greens and the oatmeal, since I didn’t have my containers, but I did my best. Crisis averted. I easily could have used this as an excuse to eat off plan, but no way. I was going to find a way to stay as close as possible to the plan as I could, and I did.

After work we got to have our big meal, finally. And then we took a little salad and some cashews as a snack for game night at our friend’s house. Keeping on track, and only one more day left this week! I wish tomorrow was Cardio Flow, as I’ve become accustomed to on Saturdays. But Booty will have to do.
