80 Day Obsession – Day 59

I’m not going to lie, after refeed day, I found myself having a little bit of a sweet tooth and wishing I could cram all that sugar (and more) into my mouth every single day. But I won’t! Because this guy is obsessed with getting results, which means being obsessed with doing this the way Autumn prescribed!

Let’s back up. This was a busy busy busy day. So I had to find time in a day to workout, but the time didn’t exist, so I had to make it exist…. We set our alarm for 4am! We got up and had our pre-workout meal. Did our morning meditation after food instead of before. I couldn’t give in and get up another 15 minutes earlier. LOL. I draw the live somewhere, and I guess right now that is 4am. After our meditation we listened to some Tony Robbins’ Power Talk program. That program is a classic of his, that my mom gave me (upon my request) when I completed my Master in Business Administration back in 2005, so I’ve been listening to that many years.

Next we headed to the gym for Leg day! Legs! This phase legs is basically all the different ways that Autumn can make us jump and pulse in a variety of squats and lunge with pulses. But we went into with our new attitude, I fucking love this shit! We lunged, squatted and jumped out way to sore but powerful legs (and booties). We got to the end feeling stronger than ever. Matthew lifted super heavy today! I lifted heavier than before, but not nearly as heavy as him, I was so impressed with both of us! We have really turned another corner with our fitness, and it is only up from here!

The rest of the day was crazy busy. Meetings, then work, a haircut, a reunion with a cousin I haven’t seen in 18 years, then back home to prep meals for tomorrow and sleep. Seriously, what a day! I went from 4am until 10pm. Between Autumn and Tony Robbins I am just bursting with feeling my full potential. I will say, their one conflicting belief is how much sleep I need. Tony says 5-6 hours, while Autumn says 8. Lately I’ve been falling in line with Tony. Though, I’d imagine if I asked Autumn, if I have to choose between 8 hours of sleep or skipping the workout, or eating food not according to the nutrition plan, my guess is sleep would be sacrificed first. Given that, I feel ok with it. Right now there is just no option to do it all… unless I sleep less.

The challenge with getting up early is that our last meal happened “early” too. Around 6:45pm. Usually on this plan we eat until 8 or later. And before 80 Day Obsession we’d snack on popcorn, cereal, burgers, whatever until late, depending on how hungry we were. Luckily, I was tired enough that I fell asleep pretty easily, instead of realizing I might want to eat again. Meals throughout the day were pretty similar because I cooked up a big batch of veggies and then put them on things (protein or carbs). I have found this to be a pretty quick and effective way to manage the nutrition plan.

Oh, and when we woke up in the morning we had our weekly produce box outside our door. Yay! We order produce delivery through a company called Imperfect Produce. They send produce (we choose predominantly organic) that can’t be sold in the supermarket. The thing is, most of it can’t be sold in the supermarket because it is surplus! Not because it’s misshapen. And even the funny shaped produce we get it super delicious. You can learn more about Imperfect Produce here.

That’s all for today. Tomorrow will be another 4am wake-up.
