Let’s start with Sunday. The 4th day of Unleash the Power Within is all about health and taking care of your body because without a body that is taken care of everything else will fall apart. The first key to success is caring for ourselves. The first time I attended Unleash the Power Within was in November of 2016 about a year and half ago. That was the catalyst that got me signed up for Beachbody. My Beachbody coach was at that same event, and we connected through a Facebook Group for event attendees.
Tony teaches a lot about health, I don’t want to go into it too much because I think some if it could be viewed a little radical, and without all the research to back it up it might just sound outlandish. But what I will say is that the Vegan 80 Day Obsession nutrition plan actually falls really closely in line with what Tony recommends. A vegetable heavy diet, eating small portions every few hours, drinking lots of water, and cutting out things like write flour and sugar. There is a lot more to it, but those are some of the big things.
When we left UPW in 2016 we did Tony’s 10 Day Challenge and implemented much of what he recommends. I thought we had implemented all of it, but after doing the program a second time I found that there were some things I totally missed last time. Within a month of leaving UPW I had dropped 10 pounds! I had started working out, but was just running on the treadmill 5 days a week. It was when I got connected with my Beachbody coach that my workouts really got focused and effective!
To summarize, I was thrilled with the final day of the event. It affirmed for me that I am on the right path with my nutrition, and that this program is a great compliment to what I learned and committed myself to. I also had a whole new reinvigoration for our workouts. We were reminded that our mental state is perhaps the most important part of the workout. We dedicated ourselves to being positive about every single workout, something I haven’t been doing for awhile.
We also heard from a guy named Billy Beck. He is a physical trainer. And he was incredibly motivating.
So Monday morning rolled around and we got up early to workout. Reinvigorated by our weekend. Life will never be the same! We are ready. We did AAA and lifted bigger and heavier, went harder, and felt even more amazing than ever before after an 80 Day Obsession workout. Look we’re smiling in our post workout picture this time! When it got hard we did something we learned at the event… we yelled “I fucking love this Shit!” It works, seriously. Our mind listens to what we say. Saying it out loud reenforces it to our mind. It didn’t make it magically easy, but it sure helped us go harder!!
I’m thinking about what comes next as we move through Phase 3. Another round of 80 Day Obsession? Maybe Hammer and Chisel. Right now I’m leaning towards morning workouts of Hammer and Chisel and evening workouts of T-25. It’s time to take this to the next level!
